Small bushy deciduous tree native to Asia and North Africa having pretty pink blossoms and highly prized edible nuts enclosed in a hard green hull; cultivated in southern Australia and California. Synonyms: almond, Amygdalus communis, Prunus amygdalus, Prunus dulcis.
